Course Details

A practical, interactive face-to-face course combining theory, hands-on activities, and reflective tasks. Build your understanding of inclusive coaching and how to create environments where everyone feels valued and able to participate. The course introduces key principles and practical ideas to help you begin adapting your coaching approach, supporting engagement and inclusion in your sessions.
Merging occupational therapy concepts with coaching practice, participants will explore how to reflect, adapt, and respond to individual needs to maximise participation, engagement, and belonging in sport and physical activity settings.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Apply a framework to understand how the person, activity, and environment shape participation
  • Conduct activity analysis to identify and reduce barriers
  • Explore how to adapt sessions using a range of strategies, including grading and compensation
  • Use your coaching approach to build trust, engagement, and connection
